Spring Clean '08--Laundry Room

I'm moving right along with my Spring Clean that Monica over at The Homespun Heart is hosting...she has some gifts for motivation and check out her super cute spring decorating ideas!!

First up on my Spring Cleaning schedule...the laundry room. This is the view from the kitchen. Incidently, that door you're looking at, is the same door that everyone that comes in this house (including guests) enter through...isn't this a welcoming sight??

There is a washing machine under this pile of clutter.

Do you notice Mal's bikini hanging up? No, it hasn't been there since summer...she actually wore it to a birthday party (with a shirt over it--just in case you think we let her run around half naked)....but I think that was a month ago!! Still not put away!

Ahhh! Much better!!
*scrubbed the walls and baseboards down with bleach
*windex all the windows on doors and above washing machine
*dusted and purged the cleaning supply shelf
*cleaned out the dryer vent (wasn't too bad actually)
*rearranged some things to make the flow a bit can actually get to the basement door now!!
*sweep and mop
*put in a new Glade Plug-In

Now I can reach the Tide & Bleach when I need it. I also added some pictures of family and friends...make it a bit more appealing to do laundry...remind me of what my calling truly be a wife and mom.

All laundry is put away!! Organizing baskets to sort folded laundry in. This really helps, so that they can come down and get what belongs to them and put it away!!

Things I found I need in this room as soon as budget/time allows;
*Pretty plush rug...that tile floor is cold
*Not sure what it's called, but one of those things to hold broom/mop to hang on the wall
*New, pretty curtains for doors and window

Ok, I'm supposed to tackle the living room today, but I'm thinkin' that might not happen. We're expecting SNOW!!! Possibly 4-8", so I might have a snow day tomorrow and can get some extra stuff done!! Do you think God heard my whiny post the other day about the snow??

Congratulations, you made some major changes in there! I needed the inspiration - I might post my new pics on the entryway. It's not much, but it's something :)
