I've been catching up on blogs today...you guys have been busy. I so miss having the internet at home....

...so the story of the internet (anyone with help on how to fix this...I know very little about computers...would be my BFF).

Ok, so a few weeks back (wow, it's really been a long time) the computer got infected with a virus and had to be taken in to the doctor. The only fix was to reload my software. Not a big deal. We've done that before. Just save the pictures and do it. So, they did. Well, in the midst of clearing everything off, my driver for my wireless USB (we have to use a wireless because our old house only has one phone jack in the entire house!) was deleted. No biggie. Just reinstall it. It's obsolete (that tells you how long I've had this internet service and hardware). Still, shouldn't be a big deal. Bought a new wireless USB and had the guy install it before I left the store. Get home and turn on computer and start process of installing my Yahoo DSL program and it starts asking my all these crazy questions and it doesn't recognize the USB. I tried for hours. For days. No luck. I really wanted to throw it out in the front lawn and take a ball bat to it like Caleb in the movie Fireproof...don't worry...I refrained. But I refuse to work on it anymore. It just frustrates me to no end. So, I've put hubby on it...who happens to know less about computers than I do. He tried. Couldn't get it going either. I do think that he's called in reinforcements that are coming today...so maybe, just maybe (keep fingers crossed)...I'll have internet when I get home this evening.

I know you were all just dieing to know all that!

So, what else?

Funny story. I can't believe I'm even going to tell this one, but hey, trying to keep it real.

Saturday night was practice for our Christmas production. Which is going to be awesome! Anyway, we have an awesome lady, who happens to be one of my bestest friends, that brings dinner for us and she cooked homemade chili. It was a great day for chili and I was actually even craving it for some reason. This chili was HOT...not as in spicy...but temperature. Well, being the goofball I am, I took a big bite and apparently did not cool it off enough. It burned the fire out of my tongue. So, what did I do? Swallowed. Huge mistake! Huge!! That chili burned my entire mouth, tongue, and throat. I ended up going to the doctor on Monday because of all the blisters in my mouth and throat. Crazy. Dumb. I felt like a complete idiot walking into the doctors office, but he assured me I wasn't the first, nor would I be the last, person to do this. He gave me some stuff called Magic Mouthwash that has lidocaine in it and it has worked wonders. I doubt I crave chili again anytime real soon.

Update on Blake: the Holtor Monitor study was normal, as we expected it to be, so now to see where to go from here. Had a very long talk with Blake's pediatrician and still trying to figure out the best course of action at this point. We are going ahead and getting a 2nd opinion on Monday, just to see what they think of the situation.

Ok, I've bored you enough with my tales of insanity. Hope you all are having a great day!

Stay away from hot chili!

Hold On

I read this in a magazine and thought it was....inspiring....had to share with you all.

Hold on to what is good even if it is a handful of earth

Hold on to what you believe even if it is a tree which stands by itself

Hold on to what you must do even if it is a long way from here...

Hold on to my hand even when I have gone away from you.

Finally Friday

Here it is...the weekend already..and my internet is still not up at home. So, I thought I'd log in real quick before going home today.

Still no news on Blake. I'm thinking of getting a 2nd opinion as I'm not feeling very confident in our pediatricians direction. I despise changing doctors, but a year ago had to do just that as ours moved and we had to have someone that took military insurance. I'm questioning my decision now. Any advice on how to find a pediatrician that you can have full confidence in?

Mallorye's volleyball team is going to the State Tournament next week and they're all super excited! It's close to home, so I'm hoping to be able to catch a few games when they play in the evenings. She's doing wonderful since her surgery. Still haven't got her thyroid meds leveled out, but they're working on them. She's also deep in the preparation for a pretty big pageant she has coming up.

I'm doing the Love Dare challenges from the movie Fireproof...tough...but so worth it! And today I'm doing something for me...our chiropractor has a massage therapist and I've scheduled an hour with her after work to hopefully get rid of some tension in my back and neck. I cannot wait!!

Hope everyone has a great weekend! And no, I haven't forgotten about updating you about last weekend (Blue Angels Air Show) but I refuse to write that post without pictures!! LOL!

Toodles!

Wired Up

Meet "wired up" boy!...I really think he looks like a unibomber, but didn't know if that was appropriate?!

I know I've been MIA...computer at home is still not back online and it's driving me insane...something wrong with the wireless adaptor driver...or some mumbo-jumbo like that.

Anyway, thought I'd do a very quick update. Yesterday I spent the day at the hospital with Blake getting hooked up to a Holter Monitor. He's been having some episodes of rapid heart rate (150+BPM), shortness of breath, and chest pain. This started in 2006 while his dad was in Iraq, but recently have started up again. The doctors think he's suffering from panic disorder, but are checking his heart again to make sure. I don't think it's his heart, but I don't think it's panic either. I just want some clear answers and not just settling for a diagnosis. So, what to do? The doctor wants us to go in for a psych eval...I'm just not sure I'm cofortable with that...any suggestions.

Ok, I hope my internet gets worked out at home soon...I've got some awesome pix to share with you guys from our weekend...Blue Angels Air Show...we had a blast and you guys need in on the fun!

Busy Weekend

Happy Monday!

Well my weekend was just as crazy as anticipated...some things got done...some did not! And you know what? That's ok.

Friday I traded the funeral visitation for dinner with my friend, Alicia. We had a great time just getting to know each other and found that we're much more alike than either of us realized. Blake went with her daughter, Adrienne, to the GCT Homecoming Game and Mallorye was at her friend, Hailey's, for an overnight camp out to celebrate Hailey's 16th birthday.

Saturday morning I went to the funeral...beautiful service...inspiring! I know that seems weird for a funeral, but to hear people talk about Paul, could only inspire one to do great things for the Lord while on this earth. Blake and I had a mom/son date at Zaxby's and then went to Little Daniel's 9th Birthday party...and then we all parted ways. I went to Christmas Practice, Mal went to the movies with the foreign exchange students, and Blake went to Pumpkin Hollow. It was a late night for all of us, but I think we all had a great day!

Sunday, was church. My weekend to sing so that started early. And of course...more play practice. Blake had to cook dinner for our small group since I was busy with practice and Q is out of town. He made lasagne and picked up the house and everything was wonderful. He's growing up so much...but doesn't keep me from grounding him today! He's not been doing his homework.

The computer is still at the shop and I'm hoping to get it back tomorrow or Wednesday! I hate being without a computer!!!! Determined to have a great week! It was a busy weekend.

Because I Can't Just Leave You Hanging For The Weekend....

....Ok, the computer at home has a virus and has to go to the "doctor" and I thought I'd update real quick before I leave work for the day.

I have a monstrous to-do list for the weekend and I'm single-parenting since Q is on TDY again.

Tonight, I have a funeral visitation and a side job to do.

Tomorrow, the funeral...a birthday party for my nephew...Christmas Production practice...and probably need to clean my house at some point.

Sunday, is my weekend to sing ...so I start at church at 7am and will be there most of the day (Christmas practice again) and then small group is at our house at 5pm.

The kids have their own agendas...Mal has a birthday party tonight and a movie planned with some friends tomorrow. Blake is going to Pumpkin Hollow tomorrow night. It's just a BUSY weekend!! Plus, I'm sure I need to get some groceries at some point and get my house in order...next week (Tuesday) is my turn to feed the volleyball team at our house.

Anyway, that's a quick update! I'll see you on Monday...have a great weekend!!

Feeling A Little Hurt

I've been sitting here, trying to think of something to post...and coming up with ...nothing. My attitude has been so stinky this week that I just didn't want to get on here and complain, but sometimes, you just gotta vent.

My feelings have been hurt...alot...this week. And well, I'm still trying to rise above and be about forgiveness instead of begrudging the person. I know that you should never do things expecting any reciprocation, but it would be nice if it was at least acknowledged. This happened to me this past weekend. I did something nice, unexpected, in secrecy....and you know what? The person has never mentioned it. Not once. I know that they seen it. They know I did it...I put my name on it. But it has not been acknowledged. And I'm hurt.

This same person has done some other things that have hurt my feelings, so I'm just wondering...have I done something wrong? Have I asked to be treated this way?
