Time For Some Manual Labor

I can certainly tell that I'm not used to "manual labor." whew! My Monday thru Friday job is at a desk, and although I work my brain very hard, my body doesn't get much of a workout. All that changed yesterday!

In an effort to help alleviate some of the financial strain on our family as a result of soaring electric bills, I got a part time job on Saturdays. It's just a few hours, but those few hours were WORK! I'm cleaning a commercial account for a local cleaning service. Now, I clean my house every day, but this was different for some reason. I guess, because I made myself clean for the entire time with no breaks (like I do at home..you know? stop and have a soda, blog a bit, etc). Anywho, I am sore today! Wow! I thought I used my muscles more, but I guess I was wrong. I did find it very satisfying to be working hard and I loved that I was able to clean without interruption...that doesn't ever happen at home!! LOL!

Time to get ready for church...I'm praying the hot shower alleviates some sore muscles!

I totally understand where you are coming from!!
I worked on cleaning Brandi's barn Sat with my dad - and I am EXHAUSTED!! I could never have done it without him, but even with him I wore myself out.
It does feel good though, doesn't it??

Hi, Ginger. I just hopped over from Mocha with Linda. I enjoyed your posts, esp. about your daughter, as I have been in the similar situation with choosing colleges, etc. I have a 21 year old girl, a 19 year-old boy and a 15 year-old girl. I couldn't bear to watch that video about "You'll Miss This" because I get so emotional about my kids growing up!

Your not kidding about the electrical cost sis. We are averaging 225 a month. Thankfully part of it is a tax deduction because of my business, but not much.I have been looking into solar systems for our property.. Some are ok in price and some are expensive . But i am considering the medium price range . It gets us off the grid and might even be able to sell some back to the power company..
